Just like many of the best Italian olive oils come from top wine producers, Marques De Grinon EVOO comes from one of Spain's greatest wineries, Marques De Grinon, known for it's exceptional Cabernets and Syrahs from its estate in Castilla-La Mancha. This olive oil is quite complex and rich, more buttery and less bitter than typical Tuscan oils, but every bit as fresh and flavorful. I would put it as a worthy alternative to the Tuscan oils, particularly for dipping in bread, where it's softness makes it especially delectable. It's too expensive to be used for everyday cooking, but it can be drizzled on steaks and chops at the end to add aromatic and flavor nuance to grilled meats and vegetables. Really, this is a world class oil.

The only reason this doesn't have 5 stars, is it arrived in an almost liquid state. Thankfully it had been packaged very tightly and kept it's shape. I don't know what more you could do, they packaged it in an insulated bag with two ice packs. The August Florida heat is just too much for mailing soft cheeses I guess. I wasn't a big problem, as I was going to cook with it anyway. It has a great truffle odor, every time I get a sniff of it, I smile!

This stuff is yummy! I have a lot of food sensitivities, including berries, so the raspberry vinegrettes used in many salads are out. I think this one is even better anyway since the pears add a consistent sweet sweet note to the vinegar tang. I blend it with my favorite olive oil (Spectrum Organic Spanish Extra Virgin)to make delicious (and healthy, lower calorie) dressing for green salads, coleslaw, potato salad, brown rice with salmon and capers, etc. In many cases I don't add anything else besides salt and pepper. I've gotten rave reviews from guests of all ages. The only thing I could wish for is that it would be organic as well.

I've used dried mushrooms many times over the years and these are among the best.Though expensive the morel has great flavor and is easily reconstituted.Already I've used them in a mushroom risotto and my favorite Fettuccine Alfredo.The 4-ounce package has a volume of about five cups of the dried morels so it easily beats what I find in the local supermarket.

While you don't want to use vanilla beans in everything (too expensive!), you will definitely want to consider using them in custards and when you make ice cream.

Vanilla enhances everything from creamy porridges to custards and cakes. The list goes on and on. There are so many uses for vanilla. Vanilla is derived from the seductively aromatic vanilla bean. Vanilla beans are actually the cigar-shaped seed pod from a fragrant climbing orchid native to tropical America.

Yes, vanilla extract is much more economical, but using vanilla beans is rather gourmet. The extract is created from chopped vanilla beans that are soaked in an alcohol/water solution. It takes about 100 beans to make 1 gallon of extract.

You can use the vanilla beans, rinse and dry them, so they last longer. After drying, you can store them again in the glass tube or in their own plastic bag for reuse.

I bought one set for myself lately. I dont drink tea very often, only couple times a week. The reason why I bought this gift set was the variety of teas. I've never been a coffee drinker, which leaves me hunting for alternatives. Over time, I developed my favorite cocoa that I would make myself at home. I like mine much less sweet than most mixes, and all other mixes seemed watery and flat--not good enough!

Les Confitures, on the other hand, has a strong cocoa flavor and isn't overpoweringly sweet. The raw cane sugar is a suprisingly good addition, adding just a touch of extra flavor. The mix also contains vanilla for richness and depth of flavor.

It's lovely to be able to use a mix instead of hauling out the cocoa and gambling on getting it to dissolve, and on getting the sugar-balance right.

I use this -- for the most part -- instead of bread. I am Bi-Coastal and I keep these in the freezer both home in NYC and out West. I will have one or two a day and that is it for bread products. Two is 120 calories. You can use them to wrap anything you like. If you want some tensile strength just leave one on the counter for a while before using. This has cache. Who wouldn't want a crepe as a sort of ultimate gourmet taco? Not knockin' tacos or bread, but if you are a minimalist like me you want few things that are great. These take up no room. You can order them in bulk. Among my uses -- to wrap concoctions I create and make a meal. YYou do not neeed much of a concocktion. Max two tablespoonfuls. To put melted cheeze on and wrap up and make a meal. To put a spoonful of icecream on and wrap up and make a treat. To put a bit of preserves on and roll up for my equivalent of a treat. And you know what? When you do not need any, they are still there, taking up little room and available whenever you get the urge. Bread substitute? Well, everyone needs bread. I still go out for breakfast in NYC and will have a Bialy. But before I used to do three bialy's worth of bread a day. I have cut that by more than half. As far as I know this is the only product like this. I am well satisfied. Class act from California.

Kudos to the makers for coming up with VERY clever packaging - doesn't hurt that the cake mix is pretty tasty as well. I did jazz up the basic mix a bit by adding some spices and touches of my own (2nd time around) but the first time I just made it as directed and it was still delicious enough to be snapped up by friends and family.

This is a lovely item to have on hand for a quick gift because once the cake is gone, the recipient will have a sturdy, attractive towel, adding a nice spot of color to the kitchen. You couldn't save this forever because the cake mix probably has a limited shelf life but if you regularly give gifts and want something to have on hand for those occasions, this would be perfect for someone just setting up house, newlyweds or people who don't have time to make something from scratch but still like to cook something that tastes pretty close to homemade, far better than what you'll find in the "cake mix" aisle.

Badia a Coltibuono olive oil is a legend, deservedly so. But be forewarned -- if you are used to the bland olive oils sold mass market in most supermarkets, the strong assertive character may come as somewhat of a shock. As noted in the Amazon product description, "according to Deborah Krasner in "The Flavors of Olive Oil", this oil "...is strongly and pleasantly bitter, with a pronounced burn....'It made my face scrunch up.' Very green and grassy, this is an oil made for drizzling."" I would tend to agree with that. In my opinion, this is really at it's best drizzled over grilled meats, vegetables and salads almost as a condiment. For dipping bread and most cooking (it's too expensive for most chefs on a budget like mine anyway) you might prefer an oil from Sicily, Spain, Australia or California, which are softer and more buttery. That said, for purists, this may be the right olive oil even for bread dipping.

My local health food store has these for $6.89 a bottle... $6.89 x 6 is $41.34, cheaper than the $45.84 directly from the manufacturer, and that isn't even counting the insane $25 shipping cost.

Now of course, my local health food store probably isn't anywhere near you, but my point is, ordering this product online seems quite pointless, especially factoring in the shipping, unless you live in the middle nowhere. Considering this is direct from the manufacturer themselves, you'd think the price would be something reasonable.

As for the juice, it's quite delicious, and I try to have several glasses a week.

I love tea and coffee; they are one of great pleaures of being an adult. I drink a lot of different teas and I enjoy herb teas, teasans, white tea with jasmine, and chai as well as a good strong cup of Yorkshire with some cream and sugar accompanied by a couple of McVities Digestive Biscuits (uh..cookies...that's just Brit for wheat cookies- they are delicious and Amazon carries them in the Gourmet section.) Most people literally run from the thought or actual deed of cooking a goose. What do you do, how do you do it, why should I do it: HELP! they scream.
But I'm here to tell you that it is not as weird or difficult than you think. If you can roast a turkey...you can roast a goose.
The roasted flesh of the Goose (and this particular free-range Goose specifically) is delicious: much more flavorful than chicken or turkey and just literally begging for full-flavor, grab-you-in-the crotch side dishes: lush, smokey cremini mushroom, ciabatta bread stuffing, fresh cranberry, lemon and orange compote, etc, etc.
So, my suggestion is that you buy a goose locally,roast it off per the package directions as practice for the upcoming holidays. This sausage tastes fine.It tastes a little like spam but without the yucky .I'm using this as a cured meat in veggie dishes that call for a pork component so it is fine but it doesn't have a delicious sausage flavorto it but a milder salty pork product taste. A 12 ounce can of spam is about Two Dollars so this clean tasting product is a much better choice.

This meat was excellent in a heated baguette with cream cheese smeared and a generous amount of cilantro/coriander.It hit the same notes as a Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich without the concern over what zactly is in that inexpensive pate.I don't eat sausage very often and I probably won't buy any more for a long time.

This sausage is at least 50% fat nubbins. The other sausage I bought is also very fatty so these are good to have around if you need lard in a recipe.

Great product, this is the best for those of us with diabettes, I use this for myself and my family. They all like it better than flour. Use it for everything you use cornstarch or flour. I have this in my fav's so I may reorder as I need, I was paying $11.45 a lb. in my local "Health Food Store". Conversion charts for the use is available online, just search Converion chart for Arrowroot. This seller ships Fastttttttttttttttt!!!

After my experience with the Amedei Limited Edition Chuao bar, also available on Amazon, I had to expand my horizons with Amedei and will endeavor to write reviews on all of their products.For those of you who have tried Amedei products before, you'll recognize this as blatant self-serving, but for the rest of you let me assure you that I only have the most noble of motives - to provide an honest review based upon personal experience.

That being said, I must admit that I have become a fan of this company.Everything I've tried so far from this company has been of extraordinarily high quality, and these continue that trend.

As noted, I first tried the Chuao bar, and had accordingly high expectations of the Toscano Dark Napolitains.The Toscano Dark Napolitains have four individually wrapped pieces of each of the three grades of dark chocolate in each box, to let you compare and contrast among each other how different percentages and blends change the overall flavor.High quality control at the factory is evident in that each one will smoothly and uniformly melt in your mouth, allowing different regions of the tongue to note their own subtle variations as well.Like many dark chocolates, these under normal conditions will also remain firm, giving a nice texture to bite and chew while still remaining perfectly smooth and lack graininess or grit.

One major benefit of the napolitains over the bar is that the pieces are individually wrapped.As noted, one of the best things about this chocolate is sharing it with friends, and the napolitains let you to do this with abandon, allowing you to share it with many people who may never have even heard of this company.The individual pieces are attractively packaged, much like the larger bars, and proudly note the name of the company.This makes it easy for them to find it later and order their own, instead of relying on you to get it for them....Likewise, one drawback of the bar which I failed to mention is the overwhelming temptation to sit down and eat the whole bar at one sitting.Another benefit of the napolitains is that since they are already individually packaged, you can bolster your willpower a bit easier and limit yourself to only one or two, if you so desire.(I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that, but my wife states that this is important, and made some vague comment about my waistline....)

As with any order from Amedei, it will be shipped with ice packs which drive up the total cost of shipping. Anticipate a significant shipping charge if ordering just one item.My recommendation is to order several items to spread out and justify this cost, which only makes sense as this chocolate is too good not to share with friends!

I got turned on to this product watching the Barefoot Contesa with Ina Garten on the Food Network.Despite it's high price, this olive oil is flavorful and of the best quality I've seen in olive oil products.I highly recommend this product by Olio Santo's out of California.
