I've loved sardines since I was little and I prefer them with skin and bones intact. While I still enjoy the tiny cross-packed Norwegian sardines I was raised on there is something very special about Spanish and Portuguese Sardines...but that special something is not found in just any brand. I tried Vigo Sardines in Oil, 4.375-Ounce Cans (Pack of 10) for instance and they were a disappointment both in flavor and presentation. That said, Palacio Real Sardines are a true representation of what's good in Spanish tinned seafood that's also easily affordable. After opening you see medium/lg sized sardines in good condition...no flayed skin or broken bits in the golden olive oil. It's the taste and texture that stand out. These firm, plump sardines are among the most delicately flavored and scrumptious sardines I've ever tasted.They are are even delicious all on their own, making for ahappy palate experience. Highly recommended.
