Review of Madagascar - Artisan Dark Chocolate Bar

I've tasted some of this extravagantly rich dark chocolate, 70% cocoa. But spending $12 for a 2.2 ounce chocolate bar is way way over my price range, chocoholic or not. You've got to be made of money to buy this stuff. Especially since, fantastic though it tastes, it is gone in the equivalent of a flash---even when you savor every morsel.

Nope, too pricey for me.

Product Description
One of the world's most unique chocolates, Amano Artisan Chocolate's Madagascar bar is sure to help redefine the meaning of fine dark chocolate. This phenomenal chocolate is made by one of America's only artisanal chocolate makers from carefully selected cocoa beans from Madagascar. With a 70% cocoa content, Amano's Madagascar bar has just enough sugar to bring out the naturally fruity flavor of the Madagascan cocoa bean. With flavor notes of citrus and raspberry Amano's cocoa beans from Madagascar create some of the world's most flavorful chocolate. The flavor qualities of chocolate are closely tied to time and place. Flavor changes with the seasons and is intricately tied to the soil and climate in which cocoa beans are grown. Amano's Madagascar bar is a good example of this. Around the turn of the century, cacao trees were brought from Venezuela to the northern coast of Madagascar. This chocolate is made from beans from the children of those trees. The mild chocolate flavor, accented with citrus and highlighted by the particularly flavorful Venezuelan bean, is unique to chocolate from Madagscar. The result is a truly unique chocolate you will love.** Of Special Note ** Amano Artisan Chocolate's chocolate is hand crafted in small artisanal batches to make the highest quality chocolate possible. The beans are carefully selected, roasted, winnowed, refined and conched on vintage equipment to create an incredible chocolate.
