Review of Malden Tea Premium Formosa Jade Oolong aka. Tung Ting Oolong. Net Wt: 1 lb. (Makes 200 Cups)

I had reservations when I first previewed this tea.Not anymore!I had been purchasing a "fine" tea from another online/retail vendor for many years. But, the quality of this tea was superior by far.The product was nicely and legibly packaged.Contained exactly what I expected, and arrived one business day after I placed the order.

This tea is a fine Oolong, with subtle floral undertones.I cannot make a higher recommendation.Thank you Malden Tea.I will certainly be back for more purchases.

Product Description
Country of Origin: Taiwan Grade: Jade Oolong Altitude: 1000 2000 ft. Manufacture Type: Handmade OolongCup Characteristics: Very smooth with light floral notes and haunting finish. Information: Oolongs follow almost the same production as black tea. The major difference between the two is in its shorter fermentation period - Oolongs are often referred to as semi-fermented teas - Formosa Jade Oolong undergoes a 60% shorter fermentation period. The result is a deeply complex 20%-25% fermeted Oolong tea that has characteristics of both black and green teas. This Tung Ti Jade Oolong is entirely hand made and has a stunning leaf. When infused, the tea is complex - smoother than black tea, less grassy than green teas, and displays a certain balance and harmony in the cup that is almost orchid like. Tung Ting, like all Oolongs should be drunk straight without milk or sugar in order to appreciate its subtle complexities. Hot tea brewing method: Oolongs teas are best enjoyed when the leaves are briefly infused with hot water, which is then poured off. The tea is then reinfused and tea is poured to the lucky guests after about 1 minute. The leaves may be reinfused several times, with each resulting infusion yielding different liquor from the proceeding cup. Iced tea-brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.

Review of Malden Tea Premium Formosa Jade Oolong aka. Tung Ting Oolong. Net Wt: 1/2 lb. (Makes 100 Cups)

I am enjoying the lovely flavor of this Oolong tea from Formosa, in my opinion the finest. I read about teas often, and have learned, that any teas that are rolled into little pearls, is always of a finer grade. This tea is rolled into the pearls. It is important to know, that the pearls must be given room to open into their leaves, so take care not to put too much into your tea bell/infuser.I use a strainer instead. This tea is meant for multiple infusions, thereby making it cost effective as well as delicious.I highly recommend this tea.It also arrived immediately.

Review of Malden Tea Gourmet Ceylon Black Tea. Kenilworth Estate Loose Leaf Tea. Grade: Orange Pekoe. Net Wt: 1/2 lb. (Makes 100 Cups)

Very good tea. When Tevana stopped selling this tea. I had to find a different company to buy it from.Delicious black tea.

Product Description
Country of Origin: Sri Lanka Grade: OP (Orange Pekoe)Altitude: 3000 feet Manufacture Type: Orthodox Infusion: Noire tending coppery Cup Characteristics: Malty flavor that is full of life and very smooth. A fine tea after dinner or in the afternoon. World renowned for its strong full-bodied cup. Information: Kenilworth tea is known around the world for its full bodied strong liquors (liquors is a tea tasting terms for taste of the tea in the cup) and is considered to be the hallmark of Ceylon medium grown teas. This estate receives an average rainfall of 190 inches per year. The location of the estate is unique in that both the South West and North East monsoons bring rain to this particular region. Kenilworth is a very modern factory and certified under ISO 2002. The factory makes a whole range of various leaf grades from the classic Orange Pekoe (which is the grade of this tea) to BOPF used in tea bags. The Kenilworth Orange Pekoe grades are the most sought after by any medium grown tea garden.Hot tea brewing method: This tea is best enjoyed using 2-3 heaping teaspoons for a 6 cup teapot. Allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes, remove the leaves and pour. We do not recommend adding milk or sugar since this can mask some of the intrigue and subtle nuances of this vintage tea. Iced tea brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 5 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.

Review of Malden Tea Gunpowder Green Tea . Premium Loose Leaf Tea. Net Wt: 1 lb. (Makes 200 Cups)

This tea is an excellent value. It came with samples and directions on how to brew tea.My husband was very pleased with the quality of the tea.

Product Description
Country of Origin: China Manufacture Type: Steamed green tea Grade: Superior Gunpowder Infusion: Medium green with golden notesInformation: Gunpowder is a green tea with surprising body and captivating almost nutty green tea taste. Legend has it that the name Gunpowder was given by a young English clerk who thought the tiny rolled green balls looked like gunpowder. The tea leaves are specially selected for quality, size and style. They are then rolled into very small tight nuggets. Gunpowder tea keeps a lot longer than other green teas and is favored because of this characteristic. The leaves for Gunpowder are only plucked during April and May when the quality of the green leaf is at it s highest. The leaves are steamed and tightly rolled in a time honored process. This gunpowder produces a reasonably strong dark-green brew with a memorable fragrance, a slightly bitter but pleasant flavor and a long lasting finish. Gunpowder is more dense than other teas so if you are making a teapot full you only require one or two teaspoons for a teapot. Chinese exporters recommend gunpowder for iced tea flavored with lemon and sugar. Gunpowder tea is also very popular in Morocco where the leaves are boiled and mint and sugar are added.Hot tea brewing method: When preparing by the cup, this tea can be used repeatedly - about 3 times. The secret is to use water that is about 180 F or 80 C. Place about one teaspoon in your cup, let the tea steep for about 3 minutes and then begin enjoying a cup of enchantment. Iced tea brewing method: A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.

Product Description
Information: Matcha is perhaps the most popular green tea on the market today. The first thing you will notice upon opening the packet is that Matcha is a finely powdered green tea and looks like an emerald colored flour. This characteristic truly sets it apart from other teas. When brewed, the powdered leaf is not strained or left in the pot, but is whisked into a frothy concoction and consumed. Because the leaves themselves are imbibed, brewed Matcha contains higher concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants than most other teas, green, herbal, or otherwise. According to researches done in Japan, brewed Matcha contains nearly 10 times the polyphenols and antioxidants of regular teas, 2 times the antioxidants of a glass of red wine, approximately 9 times the beta-carotene of spinach, and 4 times that of carrots.Brewing Ceremonial Matcha: 1). Prepare tea bowls by warming them with boiled water. 2). Prepare your Matcha whisk by soaking the tip in the boiled water in one of the bowls for about 10 seconds. 3). Pour the water out and dry the bowl with a paper towel. 4). Using your tea spoon, add 2 scoops of Matcha to each bowl. 5). Pour 1/3 of a cup of your hot water into each bowl. 6). In a slow "m' motion, submerge any loose bits of Matcha that may be floating on the surface of the tea. 7). Whisk the tea more briskly in a back and forth motion until the surface of the Matcha becomes frothy. 8). Consume immediately.Brewing Cold Matcha: 1g Matcha, 8 oz cold water, lemon, and sugar to taste. 1). Add 1g of Matcha to a little water and mix until you have a nice paste. 2). Add your paste to the rest of your glass of water and stir well. 3). Squeeze a lemon into to the mixture and add sugar to taste. 4). Add ice. Enjoy.Iced Matcha latte: 4g Matcha, 2 tbsp sugar, 3 tbsp hot water, 10 oz milk, ice. 1). Blend dry Matcha and sugar in a glass. 2). Pour in the hot water and whisk into a paste. 3). Pour cold milk over the Matcha mixture. 4). Add ice
