Review of Aidells Sun Dried Tomato Sausage, 13 ounces

I usually purchase this item in smaller links (about 9 to a pound) and stash it in the freezer. It is the perfect dinner in a hurry:thaw in microwave, toss in grill pan to brown.Meanwhile, make a salad of greens, and for a side, saute canned cannellini beans with herbs and garlic, whip up some instant polenta made creamy with goat cheese, or break open a crusty loaf of bread. 15 minutes to the table and you have the ultimate comfort food.Leftover sausage gets diced into pasta sauce. Plenty of flavor; and while spice is present, people who usually shun hot or peppery food will like this.

Whenever I visit Italy I feel at home. Italians from Piedmonte at the foot of the Alps to sunny Sicily really enjoy get-ting together with family and friends to feast, talk, drink wine and live the good life. Wherever you go in Italy youll find an appreciation of hearty food using the best ingredients at the peak of fresh-ness. Thats the spirit captured in my Turkey & Chicken Sausage with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Fresh Basil. Sun drying captures the essence of vine-ripened tomatoes at their peak, adding wonderful and intense flavors to any with basil. This sweet and aromatic herb is a perfect compliment to any kind of tomato, fresh or dried.

Review of Aidells Cajun Style Andouille, 13 ounces

One of the truly great sausages.

I remember them from my days as a young paratrooper in the 82d. The service club down the way would serve them up, sliced, grilled on a bun with mayo. They were great. Just the right amount of heat amidst the wonderful flavor.

Decades later I discovered Aidells. They are identical with what I remembered. These days, I grill the bun--Texas Toast style--with rosemary, oil and butter.

A real treat to eat.

New Orleans and the bayous of Cajun country are places a food lover like me visits over and over. Ive got plenty of good friends both in the city and out in the countryside who know how to let Les Bons Temps Rouler the good times roll on into the night. Folks down there know two things better than most anyone how to eat and party. They do a lot of both just about all the time. Along with a certain smoky spiciness, thats the spirit I tried to capture in my Cajun Brand Andouille Sausage.

Review of Aidells Habanero & Green Chile Sausage, 13 ounces

I have been serving these Aidell's habanero and green chile sausages to guests over several months both, as an appetizer (cut into pieces) or whole (in hot dog buns) - without exception, every guest has raved about the taste and the texture. I get the best results if these sausages are grilled on a BBQ and not pan fried....unfortunately, the double packs that used to be carried by Costco's and Sam's Club are no longer available...would like to see them brought back SOON!!!!

One of my favorite pastimes as a food-crazed kid in Southern California was heading to Latino restaurants and taco stands every chance I got. I would eat tacos and burritos filled with spicy meats blended with fiery chiles. My version of Mexicos prized sausage has a lot less fat and a lot more flavor than those I ate as a kid. I use lean and flavorful turkey and chicken with a light touch of wood smoke and a spicy mixture of fire roasted mild green chiles and hot Habaneros. My sausage wont burn out your taste buds, but itll definitely get your attention
