Review of Big Acres Milagro Mole, 12.5-Ounce Bottle

I love this stuff. I have always been a big fan of Mole Sauce, but the stuff you buy in the Grocery Stores never matched the flavor and consistency of what you could get in a Mexican Resturant. This stuff comes as close as you can get. The other Mole sauces commonly sold have a wierd consistency, more like a paste and seem awfully messy. This one is more like a sauce and it comes in a bottle that can be closed and put in the frig so you can use it any time you like. Its a little on the spicy side, but not overwhelming. Great on Thanksgiving turkey left overs.

As a spice mix fan, I have to give a strong thumbs-up for Chef Tom's Pork Rub.The dominant notes in this mix are cumin, coriander, and chile.This isn't a hot mix per se - if you want to kick things up a notch, I'd recommend adding a dash of cayenne - but it is excellent.Only the two standout mixes that Chef Tom sells: Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub and Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Chicken Rub are better.

This is best on baby back ribs, lamb chops, and pork roast.I only remove a star because the mix isn't that versatile: it's not particularly suited for spicing up soup, chicken, or fish.

Review of Vosges Chocolate Bars

Vosges exotic bars are a fun way to lose yourself for a few minutes as the brain tries to catch up with the hidden possibilities within. Each bar is unique and as strange as it looks the flavors somehow work together forming a delicious balance that walks a fine line.

I usually prefer dark chocolates but couldn't resist trying a new flavor. This bar tastes like the chocolate my dad used to make when I was growing up, I still remember watching and waiting for him to finish the big tab he would make, anxiously awaiting for it to cool and set. The milky and rich consistency makes this bar extremely luscious, it melts in the mouth like honey, the longer you hold it in the better it gets. The Goji berries provide short intervals of tartness but very faint and pleasant, scattered through lightly. The pink salt gives it an extra oomph. I see a new trend in chocolate bars with the salt; it reminds me of chocolate covered pretzel's where the best of both worlds collide.

Dentyne Ice Peppermint chewing gum has saved the day for me many, many times. I always keep a pack in the glove compartment of my car. I also carry the gum in my pocket so I can pop a piece in my mouth to freshen my breath just before social occasions--and even just before a dental visit!

The gum is sweetened with sorbitol and aspartame instead of sugar; the absence of sugar is better for your teeth. The sorbitol and aspartame substitutes for sugar may make this a good chewing gum for diabetics; but please double check that with your doctor if you have any concerns about that. A piece of gum has a "whopping" five calories so it won't interfere with any diet; and it has no sodium. It is very low in carbohydrates. It even comes with a freshness expiration date stamped onto the reverse of the package! Great! It does contain phenylalanine; if that is a concern for you then I would not recommend this product. It does not appear to be kosher, either, just in case that is important to you.

In addition, the 12 piece of gum pack is very slender; and this makes it very easy to carry it with you in a pocket or a ladies pocketbook.

Overall, I can't tell you how many times this gum has served as a really great breath freshener--I can't count that high! It also makes for a tasty, pleasant chewing gum. Thank you, Dentyne, for making this wonderful chewing gum! I am one loyal customer! SMILES

We got this jar of rub from my daughter who lives in Seattle and tried it on the chicken when we put it on the grill. Our group of ten guests who ate the chicken kept asking what we used and said it was the best grilled chicken they had ever tasted.
It is good and we highly...highly recommend it. I can't eat really spicy food, but this is not overly spicy, but extremely flavorful and tasty.

Review of Hot & Spicy Pickled Beans, 6 Pack of 12-oz Jars

I *love* spicy food. No seriously if the food makes you sweat before you have even swallowed, I know I am in for a real treat. Well along that particular vector these will be sure to disappoint, unless of course you *LOVE* spicy food. It is not often that I would describe vegetables as coming alive and filling the entire mouth with flavor that borders on the physical. I have lived long enough to experience just that with these "hot and spicy" beans. Do not let the title fool you, these are not chinese mustard hot, but are made with red chili flakes that comes on a bit aggressively, but the burn never builds beyond the point of being a sharp attention getter. In fact, after getting your attention all the other blended spices come alive in your mouth, sweet, tangy, a hint of sour. You must note the phrase "hint of". Just as the chili is enough to get your attention, the hint of sour is what brings all the other flavors together. It is if you will the fuse to light the explosion of flavor in your mouth.

CAVEAT EMPTOR: I work in an office with a family member of the people who make these, but stand by my recommendation 100% as I tasted, savored, wrote this review, and order some to take home in the span of 30 minutes.

The people I sent a Wine Country Gift Basket to really enjoyed it. The product is apparently quite good in person.

For a buyer's perspective though it was terrible ordering something from this company off of Amazon. Don't be fooled by the "Ships in 1-2 days" advertising. It'll ship whenever this company gets around to it. It was 2 weeks before I received any confirmation from WCGB and almost 5 weeks before my friends go their basket. Very slow service!! Had I known that it would take that long I would have never ordered it.

Review of Balsamic Vinegar Of Modena Extravecchio Gold Seal - Over 75 Years Old

As the description notes, balsamic does indeed "growth" more valuable as it ages. What the review fails to note is that unlike fine wine, it also grows ever more alcoholic. One nip of this stuff, and you'll be unfit to drive for hours. To put it simply? It will mess. you. up.

If you know that going in, you may be able to withstand the effects of this heady brew.

Do take note of the product's two year shelf life, however. After two years, enough oxygen will undoubtedly have penetrated to turn this vinegar into wine. Not a good wine, not a fine aged wine, but a blend in the vein of Two Buck Chuck.

In short, use it sparingly but use it quickly, then buy some more. It's slightly cheaper than just burning your money!

I was hesitant about how good a gluten-free dough could really be; in fact it sat in my kitchen for quite a while before I tried it. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package, because it had a wonderful smell. I actually think it's pretty tasty. It's not a soft crust and it's crispier around the edges, but I liked it. I enjoyed it enough that I've bought more and had pizza several times now. Instead of sauce I put olive oil and roasted garlic on it, and then I layered goat cheese, tomatoes, caramelized onions, and fresh basil. It was delicious!

Review of Rub with Love Bengal Masala Rub by Tom Douglas, 3.5-Ounce

I'm a big spice mix fan and have to give a strong thumbs-up for Chef Tom's Bengal Masala Rub. Surprisingly, this is neither a 'burn your mouth hot' rub, nor is it even heavy on the cumin and curry flavors.(Though why *wouldn't* you be surprised, given the exceedingly generic Product Description that Amazon lists for this mix!)

There really isn't a single dominant note in this rub, it's a balance of cardamom, smoked paprika, garlic, and even (I suspect) cinnamon. I'd advise people who want to kick things up a notch to add a dash of cayenne or black pepper.

This works very well on lamb, chicken, and (surprisingly!) fish such as catfish or snapper.Tends to be lackluster on red meats and fish like tuna and salmon.

Only the two standout mixes that Chef Tom sells: Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub and Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Chicken Rub are better than this one, mostly due to their extra versatility.

Review of Baklawa (Baklava) w/Walnuts, 60 Pieces

I'll be honest the product itself is good, but Shatila is the worst service you can find online. They will never return your emails and their staff are computer illerterate. If you call they are not very helpful. The person I talked to could not find my orders or emails I sent them (I sent 3). I was told they will ship whenever she finds the order (that was about 5 days after I spoke to them and 12 days after I ordered).

They will arrive in the required time line, but you will get them at the last possible day they are required for you to receive it. They ship over a week late with 2 day air. I wonder if I would have ever received it if I didn't call and complain.
