Review of Spaghetti by Latini - Farro Grain

This is amazing pasta. Since my nutritionist suggested that I stop eating white flower and unhealthy carbs. I am still able to satisfy my love of pasta with this spelt grain pasta, that is high in fiber and big on taste. Since my husband hates pasta, when i made this for dinner he agreed that this was the best gourmet pasta he had ever tasted. Amazing. I love this stuff.

I was having trouble finding semolina flour until I ventured into my local indian grocery and found a bag of Sooji.That's the Indian translation for semolina flour, and it only cost me $1.99 for 2 pounds (no shipping charge and no tax).Suggest you try it and compare to this product; you might save some serious $$$.I will be trying it in my Italian bread recipes.

This ground durum wheat flour (a hard wheat) is used to make gnocchi alla Romana, rustic breads and fresh egg pasta. Because it is such a coarse grind (it has the consistency of fine sand), semolina flour requires more liquid than wheat flour does.

Review of Raspberry Patch, 4oz

This is an herbal loose leaf tea that is very flavorful in a delicate, naturally sweet way.I have used it through a strainer in a mug, and laying loosely in a Zarafina tea maker.I have also tucked it into a "T-sac" tea filter, and loose in infuser-balls and steeped it that way.The brewed tea has a medium rose color.I find that a teaspoon of "Raspberry Patch" per cup is plenty.

The white cubes in the picture are little apple pieces, ok to nibble after the tea brews.

I have served this to guests and they, both men and women, love it too.But I'm sure not saving it just for them!

Review of Passion Fruit Syrup

This is great for flavoring teas or mixing in water as a concentrated juice.

Now, if you are considering replacing the actual fruit juice with this product for cooking (ie: making mousses), it may not work as well. I tried and it doesn't thicken the cream as acidic juices usually do, and you can't add any sugar or sweetner or it will become too sweet, the syrup is already sweet enough. Keep in mind that, if you intend to use sweetened condensed milk (which is what I did), it will be way too sweet.

Review of Aidells Cajun Style Andouille, 13 ounces

One of the truly great sausages.

I remember them from my days as a young paratrooper in the 82d. The service club down the way would serve them up, sliced, grilled on a bun with mayo. They were great. Just the right amount of heat amidst the wonderful flavor.

Decades later I discovered Aidells. They are identical with what I remembered. These days, I grill the bun--Texas Toast style--with rosemary, oil and butter.

A real treat to eat.

Being French, these have always been one of my favorites. The reviewer before me obviously didn't know how to cook these, so hear: You must bake them in the oven until they crack open, and even then, let them get slightly burnt. The crispy, blackened parts are always everyone's favorites!
These sausages are very tasty and highly nutritious, while low-fat (compared to regular sausages), so give them a try!!
The best side dish to go with these is either mashed potatoes, or un-sweetened fresh applesauce (delicieux!).

Very hard to find in stores in USA. Used to be sold in Occitane stores all over, that is finished. Very few fancy food stores carry this oil (Citarella in NYC for expl). This olive oil is so good, all of them with herbs, lemon, basil etc etc.. No cholesterol so good for salad, pastas, fishes, etc.. Unfortunately on the web the distributors send this expensive product inseveral boxes, each time the price of shipping double price. In NYC you find the product at Citarella for about $14. If you use the web the price is more than 100% with shipping. The product is superb, but I think the exclusif distribution take advantage of their position, I advise you not to buy on the web. Too expensive!

Although I like to try lots of different olive oils to explore the many and varied flavors, if I had to choose just one, it would probably be the Laudemio, produced by a consortium of 30 top quality producers in the heart of Tuscany. Laudemio is produced from early harvested Tuscan varieties of Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino olives grown and pressed on specially selected soils in the Chianti zone. What makes Laudemio so special is that it combines the best of the classic, "grippy" style of the best Tuscan olive oil with the softer, more buttery notes more typical of the better olive oils from southern Italy and Spain. That makes it great not only for drizzling over grilled meats and vegetables, but for dipping in your favorite loaf of crusty Italian or French bread. Clear and intensely green, fruity, full, well-rounded and spicy, this dark olive- green has subtle floral and mineral aromas, and it is full -bodied and peppery, with a very fresh and lively after taste. It is a classic olive oil of the highest quality, and I highly recommend it.

Podere La Costa, was acquired by his ancestors in the 14th century. These 30-odd acres of Tuscan frantoio olive trees have produced some of the most intensely flavored oil in Italy.The oil from Podere La Costa is bottled as Laudemio, an elite designation create by central Tuscan growers following the devastating freeze in 1986. The Laudemio consortium oversees production according to strict guidelines. Crafted from a selection of Frantoio (90%), Pendolino and Moraiolo (10%) olive varietals from the best olive groves in the Guicciardini Estate, Poppiano Laudemio s olives are hand harvested in early November at their perfect ripeness. It's always hard to know how good food items will be over the internet, but these pistachios were outstanding.They were nicely salted, but not overly done, and they were roasted perfectly.The color was nice and green in almost every case, and there were very few inedible ones.These are about as high quality as any other type I've had.I highly recommend them.
